New training opportunity for mid-career professionals looking to transition into the environmental services industry!

Starting April 2025, mid-career workers can enroll in a new course at Temasek Polytechnic (TP) to gain essential skills for the sector.

This initiative is part of the SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme (SCTP), a collaboration between TP, the Environmental Management Association of Singapore (EMAS), and the National Environment Agency (NEA).

The three-month, full-time course—the first of its kind in the industry—will equip participants with knowledge in robotics, automation, and outcome-based contracting for cleaning services.

Plus, learners can tap into their SkillsFuture credits to offset the course fees.

Course Outline:

With reference to Singapore Standard 694:2023 and the successful implementation of an outcome-based cleaning contract (OBC) in an eco-campus, this course aims to equip the participants with knowledge and skills in:

- Key components and clauses of an OBC contract
- Desired cleaning outcomes/benchmarks for residential estates, commercial premises and retail food and beverage premises
- Service buyer and service provider partnerships
- Performance inspection checklist and scorecard for an outcome-based cleaning contract
- Application of digitalization, robotics, automation and Internet of Things (IoT) for effective implementation of OBC

Participants will also be guided in the drafting of an OBC contract and conduct cleaning inspections, under an OBC framework, together with industry practitioners.
